  • Obituary: Catherine (King) Singleton passed away on May 31, 2022. Born in 1939 to late parents, Adelbert and Rhea King of Grand Pre. Graduated with honours from Wolfville High School in 1957. Career started at Office of Archibald Farms Ltd. and later to Bank of Montreal and finally Sears Canada from where she retired in 2000. She became an avid gardener and made teddy bears for children in crisis around the world. She loved to read, bake, do jigsaw puzzles and enjoyed music. Loved spending time with family and friends. She overcome a lot of pain in her life, but had a strong appreciative faith. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Trevor Smith; and husbands, Michael Smith and Stanley Singleton. She is survived by her sisters, Rhea Mosher (Jim Fetty), Hughanne (Owen) Hennigar, Betty Lou (Chet) Brown; brother, Ted (Sandra) King; several nieces, nephews and their families; special friend, Joy Ells and her family in Ottawa. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9 in Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pre. Donations in memory may be made to Chrysalis House, Kentville. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
