Born in Amherst, NS she was the last surviving family member of the late Rueben and Sadie Keddy (Chambers). Jean was a retired linotype operator and proof reader at the Moncton Times & Transcript for 15 years and prior to this position at the Amherst Daily News for over 20 years. She was an active member of the Amherst Emanuel United Church, UCW, Blanch Rice Club, organist and member of the choir assisting many ministers with funerals, weddings and weekly church services. She loved to dance, listen to Daniel O'Donnell and the occasional card game. Jean was an avid traveller to the USA, visited family out west and to the NS Tattoo. She will be sadly missed by her son Robert (Bonnie) Goodwin of Shediac Cape, NB, 2 grandsons Nathan Goodwin of Shediac Cape and Mark Goodwin also of Shediac Cape. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Goodwin in 1997, three brothers Ray Keddy of Connecticut USA, Ronald Keddy of Ontario, Reginald Keddy of Amherst, NS and a sister Margaret Ainsburg of Rhode Island USA. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong \endash Jones Funeral Home, Amherst, NS where visitation will take place on Saturday April 11th, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm. A memorial service will be held from the funeral home at 3 pm Sunday April 12th. A light lunch will follow the memorial service. Burial will take place in the Amherst Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, donations to the Immanuel United Church, Amherst, NS or the memorial of once choice would be appreciated.
