  • Obituary: September 7, 1930 - February 25, 2020 CRAIB, James Alexander "Alec" - 89, of Wallace, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash, with family by his side. He was the son of the late James and Nettie (Jamieson) Craib. Alec was a hard working man that took great pride in every job he had. He grew up on a farm, worked as a Lobster fisherman, Wallace Stone Quarry, Malagash Salt Mine, Atlas Construction, Oil Driller, Labrador Mines, Seaport Construction, Cumberland Paving, Fox Harb'r Resort & Golf Course and Stanley J. Flynn. He said some of his proudest work was done on the original construction of the Fox Harb'r Resort. He especially enjoyed his Friday suppers at the family cottages in Fox Harbour, family gatherings and spending time with friends. He had a keen interest in vehicles, old and new. He is survived by sons, Larry (Marilyn),Enfield, Walter (Ruthie), Toronto, Timmy (JoAnne), East Wallace, Ricky (Kathy), Amherst; sister, Jean Vincent; grandchildren, Dewaine, Joel, Jocelyn, Erin, Patrick, Monica, Ashlee, Alex and Tyler; great grandchildren, Shelby, Ben, Jacob, Emma, Colton, Allie, Jake, Alex and Skyler, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz"; brother, Doug and sister, Betty Briggs.A celebration of his life will be announced and held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wallace Fire Department. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mundle's Funeral Home, Pugwash.
