Born in Bible Hill, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Carrie (Boyd) Langille. She was a member of the Truro Corp of the Salvation Army, Truro, where she held many positions. She was an adherent of St. David's United Church, Bible Hill. She was a former employee of Stanfield's Ltd., Margolian's, Vans Shoe Store and Fred Delaney's Grocery Store, Truro. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughters, Evelyn McNutt, Jeanette Webb, Barbara Atkinson, Juanita (Mrs. Kenneth McCabe), Marie (Mrs. Harry Byron), all of Bible Hill; Edna Forbes, Kentville; son, Edward M., Bible Hill; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Everett "Red" Matthew; daughter, June; sister, Annie; brothers, Andrew and George; one grandson. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today and funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, all in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, Major Rocky Bishop and Major Janice Bishop officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in Bible Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the I.W.K. Health Centre Foundation, Victoria Order of Nurses or Truro Palliative Home Care Unit.
