  • Obituary: PICTOU – Annie Margreta 'Greta' Langille of Pictou, passed away March 9, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in West River Station, she was daughter of the late Charles Benjamin Langille and Annie Louella Johnson. Greta was the last surviving member of her immediate family. At an early age she came with her parents to live in Pictou. She graduated from Pictou Academy, Alma College, and Acadia University. During World War II she served with WRCNS for a number of years. Greta was a Business Office Supervisor with Bell telephone and she also worked in the office at the Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital, Pictou. She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church, Pictou. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Fulton; and sister-in-law, Isabel. Greta is also survived by long time friend, Fern Sellers. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday from First Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Rev. Iona MacLean officiating. Spring burial will be in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Donations in her memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Pictou.
