Thelma – 92, Brookfield/Brentwood passed away October 4, 2011. Born on June 2, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Edna (Flemming) Blaikie. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her children, Jocelyn and Barry Langille; sisters-in-law, Dot Blaikie, Phyllis Hampton; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Earle Douglas Langille; siblings, Alda (Eldon) Brenton, Edwin (Olive) Blaikie, George Blaikie, Jean (Sid) Cox, Ruth (Bob) Densmore. Thelma worked for a time in Truro in the 40's and early 50's before marrying and raising her family. She always had a keen interest in people and made friends easily. She loved to chat with friends on many topics and listen with understanding when people needed a sympathetic ear. Those who knew her best will remember for her cheerful attitude, quirky sense of humor, matter of fact way of looking at things, inquiring nature and thoughtful caring. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will begin at 1 pm on Saturday, October 8 followed by a memorial service at 2 pm, both in Knox United Church, Brookfield with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Interment in Brookfield Eastside Cemetery to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thelma's memory may be made to Knox United Church, Canadian Cancer Society, the A.L.S. Society or charity of choice. The family wish to thank the emergency room staff, the nurses of 3 north and the palliative care team of Colchester Regional Hospital for their caring assistance.
