LANGILLE, Frances Lydia - Born August 26, 1914, she was the eldest daughter of Henry and Alice Steele of Halifax and Vancouver, B.C.; wife of the late Arthur William Langille of Alton. They were married November 24, 1945. Frances passed away July 1, 2005, in Peace Portal Lodge, South Surrey, B.C., with her sister, Norma Grainger at her side. Frances leaves sisters, Norma Grainger, Delta, B.C., and Marjorie Cochrane, South Surrey, B.C.; niece, Deborah Cochrane, Perth, Australia, and brother-in-law, John Schaap, Smithers, B.C. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Schaap in 2001. Frances worked for Air Canada in Goose Bay, for Provincial Motors in Halifax and then as a secretary with the law firm of Burchell MacDougal in Truro. Frances and Art enjoyed their many years with the Hub Campers, receiving a number of awards and trophies. Frances loved her friends at the church and the U.C.W. Martha Ann group. She also loved to sing, having spent years with the Cathedral of All Saints Choir in Halifax and Alton. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Colchester Funeral Home in Truro on Friday, August 26, at 2 p.m., which would have been Frances' 91st birthday. Her remains will be laid to rest in Brookfield Cemetery. Please give donations of your choice and a big hug amongst one another in loving memory of Frances.
