  • Obituary: LANGILLE, John Frederick - 79, Central Caribou, died Saturday, October 2, 2004, in Northumberland Veterans' Unit, Pictou, after a long fight with Cancer. Born in Caribou, he was a son of the late Kenny and Mary Belle (Baird) Langille. John was a fine example of someone who lived their life fully while dealing with Cancer. A cabinet maker by trade, he spent most of his working life employed at the shipyard in Pictou. A musician all of his life, John spent the last six years entertaining with his cousin, George Baird, as part of 'the Ancient Mariners'. He was also very proud of his service during the Second World War in the South Pacific and he was a member of the Overseas War Veterans' Association. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, the former Jean MacKinnon. He is survived by daughters, Donna (Edward) Bullerwell, Caribou River; Glennie Langille, Caribou; son, Fred (Kay), Central Caribou; grandchildren, Wendy and Charles Bullerwell, Jennifer and Ryan Langille; brothers, Charlie, Pictou; Alex, Caribou; Lloyd, Windsor, Ont; sisters, Nita Davidson, Stellarton; Marg MacAllister, Moncton; Mona Richards, Windsor, Ont; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, with funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home Chapel, Mrs. Jessie Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Central Caribou Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care or a charity of your choice
