Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Carrie (Langille) McCallum. Shirley enjoyed her family, her church and various women's groups. She also liked knitting, sewing and being at home. She is survived by her husband, Keith; daughter, Sharon (Leslie) Smith, Salmon River; son, Ross (Faye), Miramichi, NB; grandchildren, Jason, Vincent, Tina, Mark and Joanne; six great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Grant, Eleanor (Doug) Robertson, Phyllis (Olaf) Shellard, Lois (Bill) Spinney, Evelyn (Terry) Innes, Lucille MacKenzie; brother, Morris (Rose) McCallum; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathryn May; sister, Verna Hamilton; brothers, Archie and Dexter McCallum. Visitation will be held on Monday from 7-9 pm; funeral service on Tuesday at 3:00 pm both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. David Lutes officiating.
