Born in River John, she was a daughter of Willo (Gammon) McKay, River John and the late James McKay. She was a graduate of the Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. She was a registered nurse and operated a private care home for the elderly for 20 years. She also enjoyed crafts. She is survived by three sons, Michael, James, both of Tatamagouche; Peter, at home; daughter, Karen, at home; brother, James, River John. She was predeceased by her husband, George; son, Shawn in infancy. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche and 2-4, 79 p.m. Sunday in MacLeod's Funeral Home, River John. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in St. George's Presbyterian Church, River John, Rev. Murray Graham officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery, River John. Family flowers only.
