  • Obituary: George Aubrey- 78. It is with deep sorrow that the family of George Aubrey Fields "Sonny" of Upper Onslow, Colchester Co., announce his passing on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, surrounded by his family. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late George and Audrey (Langille) Fields. He was employed with CNR and retired as a Locomotive Engineer in 1986. He was a property owner in Truro for 53 years. In his younger years he loved to fish and hunt. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Isabel (Smith) "Liz"; sons, Kevin (Donna), Truro; Timothy (Karen Hutchinson), Onslow Mountain; daughters, Lisa (Mike) Swinimer, Lower Sackville; Patricia (Richard) Dennis, Onslow Mountain and Suzanne (Ryan MacNeil), Onslow Mountain; grandchildren, Devin, Ryan, Kally, Tyler, James, Rachel, Corey, Colby, Shelton, Samuel and Benjamin and great-grandchild, Brooklyn. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Denis. His grandchildren will sadly miss him as he was best known for the "candy drawer". He was always willing to help and assist others whenever thev needed it. A special thanks to the staff of Colchester Regional Hospital and especially to the VON for the kindness and compassion shown toward George over the past three years. No visitation or funeral service by George's re-quest. A private family funeral service will be held in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
