  • Obituary: HALIFAX HERALD JULY 25,2001 LANGILLE, James Alfred - 75, Scotch Hill, Pictou Co., formerly of Tatamagouche, passed away Monday, July 23, 2001, in Aberdeen Hospital, just eight days before his 76th birthday. Born in River John, he was the son of the late Osborne and Lily Langille. A veteran, he served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War. A resident of Ontario for many years, he ran his own trucking business and had also worked construction on the Welland Canal Hydro Project. He returned to Nova Scotia, settling in Tatamagouche, where he worked buying lobster in Cape John and trucking for National Sea, before retiring as a school bus driver. His grandchildren were the light of his life and James Alfred will be remembered as a proud grandfather and ardent traveler, enjoying many trips in his motorhomes. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Dorothy Targett; daughter, Linda Marie Langille (Mrs. Bill Bonnyman), Charlottetown; grandchildren, James and Sherry, both of Charlottetown; Denise, Toronto; sister, Kathleen "Pidgeon" (Mrs. George MacKenzie), Pictou. He was predeceased by sisters, Lydia Langille and Maisie Patriquin. Memorial service will be held 3 p.m. today in McLaren Funeral Home Chapel, Pictou. Burial will be at a later date in Seaview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or IWK Health Centre Foundation.
