Born in River john, he was a son of the late John and Laura (Langille) Hatch. He is survived by daughters, Laura (Mrs. Gerald O'Brien), Westville; and Rita Owens, Malden, Mass.; sons, Fraser, Pictou; Derrick, Brandford, Ont.; Shawn, Truro; and Shane, Westville; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Georgina Hatch, Tatamagouche; Edith (Mrs. Murray Perry), Shelburne; half-sister, Mrs. Clara Sutherland, Victoria, B.C.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife,Amey MacLean, son, Billy; daughter, Annabelle, and several half-brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Salvation Army Citadel, Westville, with Major Carson Durdle and Rev. Gordon MacLean officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.
