  • Obituary: Tara Lynn (Langille) McGee - On Monday, March 18, 2024, she passed away peacefully and graciously, on her own terms; with life partner, Garth and her loving sisters by her side. Born in Truro in 1976, Tara grew up with parents, Greg and Dianne and devoted sister, Caroline. Tara worked with the Truro Police Service for many years and prior to that, worked for the RCMP and was a medic in the military. She loved everything outdoors from sitting with nature, to hiking, gardening, and four wheeling through the woods with fun-loving friends. Tara had an admirable work ethic, and she gave her all to every challenge, whether in the course of her work, playing sports, a CrossFit or kick-boxing class, or in her most cherished role as mom and best friend to beloved son, Connary, for whom she never once failed to show up. She adored her family and friends; she was fiercely loyal and protective of anyone she called her own. Tara and Caroline were lucky to raise their brood of boys together, developing relationships between them that were more sibling than cousin. Caroline's boys affectionately referred to her as, "Annie". They were also delighted to add "bonus sister", Angela to their family which added even more fulfilment. Tara was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Robert and Margaret Cleary and paternal grandparents, Vivian Langille and William Langille. She is survived by her son, Connary McGee, the absolute light of her life; her parents, Greg Langille (Debbie), Dianne Langille (Bob Gay); her loving partner, Garth Higgins; sisters, Caroline Shea (Tim) and Angela Bamford (Martin); nephews, Calum, Spencer, Westin and Joshua; niece, Clare; and pets, Griffin and Dolly, all of whom will miss her wit, her sass, her love, and the joy with which she brightened their everyday lives. Tara faced her diagnosis and brief illness with the same bravery, beauty, and grit that she brought to all of her life endeavors and experiences. To know her was to love her. A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 with more details to follow soon. If so desired, donations in Tara's memory to a charity of choice are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall '96 Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Tributes, words of comfort and memories may be shared at: www.mattatallvarnerfh.com
