  • Obituary: MIDDLETON \emdash Mr. Norman F. Gage, 81, of Middleton, beloved husband of Jean (Kuell) Gage of Middleton, died Saturday morning, July 24, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his family. Born in Middleton, he was the son of the late John and Hilda Ray (Goucher) Gage. He was raised and educated in Middleton and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1946. A life long resident of the Town of Middleton, Mr. Gage had been employed in the oil industry for many years. He began his career with Country Gas Company, he then matriculated to C & C Elliott Company and most recently had been employed by Townsend Oil of Danvers, until the time of his retirement. Active in Masonic Circles, Norman served as past Master of Mosaic Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Danvers; he was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Salem and the Allepo Shrine Temple in Wilmington. He was a former member of the Middleton Fire Department and a long time member of the Middleton Congregational Church. He loved to garden and work in his yard and he had a passion for gospel and country music. Mr. Gage was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, who truly enjoyed spending time with his family and will be deeply missed. In addition to his loving wife of 61 years, Norman is survived by his daughters, Karen McAskill and her husband Stephen of Amesbury and Diane Risoldi and her husband Frederick of Newburyport; his son, Ronald Norman Gage and his wife Denise of Ipswich; his 10 grandchildren, his three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends. He was also the brother of the late Edward Gage and Lester Gage. ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Middleton Congregational Church, Maple Street, Middleton, Wednesday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
