He married Norma Spinney on Saturday; April 23, 1960 in Long Beach; Los Angeles County, California. Ronald was a computer programmer and systems analyst at Rockwell for over 35 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and a Marine Corps veteran. Ronald loved his family and was always proud of his Finnish heritage. Ronald John Mikkola Sr., age 68, of Cedar Rapida; Linn County, Iowa passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday; July 28, 2007, after a long illness. Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife: Norma. Seven children: Ron & his wife: Mary Mikkola Jr. Cyndi Edwards & her husband: Terry McCauley. Jim & his wife: Jacqie Mikkola and Glenda & her husband: Bruce Marsh all of Marion; Linn County, Iowa. Carrie & her husband: Randy Nelson and Mark & his wife: Jenny Mikkola all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. David & his wife: Andrea Mikkola of Collierville; Shelby County, Tennessee. Two sisters: Carole Stockero of Coleman; Midland County, Michigan and Sheila & her husband: Bob Casagranda of Rockford; Winnebago County, Illinois. Fourteen grandchildren: Jennifer & her husband: Drew Dechant, Missy, Amanda, Jacob Mikkola, Christine, Danielle Mikkola, Heather Lorenz, Bradley, Megan Marsh, Joshua, Sarah, Rachel Mikkola, Izak and Malori Mikkola. Also many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Glen Maki. A sister: Barbara Lohrey and a granddaughter: Lindsey Mikkola. May they rest in peace. A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories on Friday; August 3, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday; August 4, 2007 at the church. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday; August 4, 2007 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church by the Reverend John Gossman. Interment will be at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
