She was 76. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia to Harlan and Florence (Bruce) Nelson, she grew up in Brookfield where she received her education at Brookfield Royal High School. She continued her education with the RCAF,where she became a Registered Nursing Assistant. Marg started her career at St Thomas Elgin General Hospital in 1957 and worked at various hospitals and nursing facilities throughout Ontario. She returned to Brookfield in 1989 and became a private, in home care giver. Marg retired from nursing and moved to Calgary in 1997. Marg loved working in nursing and helping people. A life time love of learning prompted her to return to school at various times throughout her life, mostly to upgrade her nursing skills. She loved the animals at her home on the farm and loved telling stories about when she was growing up, those being some of the happiest times of her life. Her children Karen and Kevin were the most important people in her life and she was so disappointed that, because of her health, she was unable to be with them this past year. Marg adored her brothers and sisters as well as her nieces and nephews. Marg is survived by her children Karen Cote (Paul) and Kevin Haight. Sisters Beverly Hutchison (John) and Shirley Burke. Brothers Vernon (Beth) Maurice (Elaine) and Philip (Sandy) Nelson, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her step mother Verna Nelson, sisters Mary and Marlene (Stuart) Mingo, her brothers Bruce (Catherine) and Eric (Barb) A memorial service will be held in Brookfield this summer.
