(PRIESTLEY) 93, a Gold Star Mother, died Thursday at the Tockwotten Home. She was the wife of the late Leo D. Mullen. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Orlando B. and Catherine (Doyle) Priestley, she had lived on Barton Avenue in Warwick for 34 years before returning to Providence in 2003. Mrs. Mullen was a member of the first group of women hired to the clerk position at the Providence Post Office and she worked there for 20 years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of the American Postal Workers Union, The Meadowlarks and the Shawomet Seniors. Mrs. Mullen was the past president of Warwick Chapter of the Gold Star Mothers and was an original member of the South Side Boys Club Mothers Club. She leaves two sons, Edward J. Mullen and his wife Margaret of Warwick, Peter J. Mullen and his wife Nora of Cranston; two daughters, Mary-Ellen Mullen and her husband Robert Vigorita; Dorothy C. McLaughlin and her husband Michael E. McLaughlin all of Warwick. Grandchildren Michael Mullen and his wife Maureen, Robert Mullen and his wife Becky, Monica Mullen, Jason Vigorita, Daniel McLaughlin and his wife Amy, Susan McLaughlin, Amy Mullen, Laura Mullen, and Julie Mullen. Her Great Grandchildren, Zachary, Mallory, Annabella, and Grady Mullen. She was the mother of the late First Lt. Leo R. Mullen, U.S. Army. She was the sister of the late Marjorie Douglas, Virginia McNally, and Orlando B. Priestley, Jr. She also leaves several nephews and nieces.
