  • Obituary: Sharron E. Riedell, 81, of Osterville, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, in Mt Holly, Vermont. Born on May 29, 1944, in Brooklyn NY. Sharron dedicated her life to education and family. She earned her bachelor's degree from New England College and went on to receive a master's degree in early childhood education from Wheelock College. Her passion for nurturing young minds was evident throughout her career and in the way she cared for those around her. A longtime resident of Osterville, Sharron found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening and took pride in cultivating beauty around her home. Her deep roots in the community were reflected through her active membership at the United Methodist Church of Osterville, where she contributed faithfully to church life and supported its mission. Sharron was a devoted wife to Carl S. Riedell whom she married in New Milford, New Jersey on August 27, 1966, and a loving mother to her son, Carl A. Riedell. She also cherished the memory of her daughter, Laura C. Lockhart, who predeceased her. As a grandmother, she held a special place in her heart for Nathaniel Lockhart, Abby Lockhart, and Avery L. Reidell. She is also remembered by her sister, Colleen Higgins, and brother Thomas R. McGee. Sharron was predeceased in death by her parents Anthony and Isabel McGee and in-laws, Carl Francis Riedell and Ethel Frances (Parker) Riedell. Visitation will be held on January 6th from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the United Methodist Church in Osterville, located at 57 Pond Street, Osterville, MA 02655. A funeral service will follow on January 7th at 11AM at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Osterville, Sunday School Fund, in memory of Sharron E. Riedell. Sharron was a dedicated mother and grandmother whose love and care touched the lives of those around her. Her warmth and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
