She was born and raised in Stewiacke , N.S. , and lived in Truro for the past fifteen years. She graduated high school then went on to become a graduate of the Provincial Normal College and operated a Day Care in Truro and other areas of Nova Scotia for many years and was admired as "Miss Frances ". Anyone who knew Fran admired her kind and gentle spirit and she was deeply loved by her family and close friends and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She also had a passion for bowling and was a long time member of the Truro Senior Bowling League. She is survived by a sister Charlotte MacPherson of Colquitlan, B C. daughters Sharron Lee Winsor (Don) of Ft. Saskatchewan , Pamela Lamothe of Truro , sons Rick Newton (Karen) of Coldstream, Leslie Newton (Cathy) of West St. Andrews and David Newton (Marianne) of Lr. Coverdale N.B., ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and her beloved companion of many years, Mattie. A private family service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery , Stewiacke East.
