He had been a resident of Union Centre for the past 16 years having previously lived in Green's Trailer Court, New Glasgow. He was retired from Northern Telecom with almost 30 years of service. He later went on to work for Acadia Lines from where he retired with 12 years of service. He was an overseas veteran and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34, New Glasgow. Surviving are sons, Wayne, Sante Fe, New Mexico; Donald, Montreal; Douglas, Calgary; daughters, Jean (Mrs. Wayne Cockerill), Fort McMurray, Alta.; Cheryl, Montreal; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Hazen, Pictou; Gerald, Boylston; sister, Juanita Smith, New Glasgow. He was a predeceased by brother, Howard. Visitation 12 noon today until time of funeral 2 p.m. today, both in H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home and chapel, Rev. Iona MacLean officiating.
