  • Obituary: FISHER, George "Calvin" - 89, passed away June 15, 2003, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Alton, he was a son of the late George and Sadie (Martell) Fisher. Calvin is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church, All Around The Circle Senior Citizen's Club, and a former member and recipient of the Eagle Award of the Brookfield Men's Club, a life member and former fire chief of the Brookfield Fire Brigade, and a member of Brookfield Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Ada Fisher, Glenhaven Manor, New Glasgow; daughter, Sharon Keizer; son, David (Mary-Bruce), all of Brookfield; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Calvin was predeceased by son, James in infancy; sister, Alfreda Archibald; brothers, Richard, Wimburn and Jack; son-in-law, Donald Keizer. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday, with Brookfield Fire Brigade tribute at 7 p.m., memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Jack Palmer officiating, assisted by Pastor Dan Cormier. Private family burial in Brookfield Westside Cemetery. Family flowers only.
