Born in Wittenburg, NS, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Minnie Ellis. Gladys worked in early years in Stewiacke at a local hardware store as a cashier and took to accounting and when she married Ronald Archibald, Gladys did the bookwork for his trucking business for over 38 years. Gladys loved to tend her large flower garden and would make everyone who stopped by to visit some tea or a meal. She enjoyed cooking, baking and weekend camping trips mostly at Seafoam Campground. She also loved to go the Truro Zellers Mall to shop and meet friends and convince them to go for supper. She is survived by her son, Larry (Carol); sisters, Elva, Edie and Frances. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; brothers, Ralph, Earl and Vernon Ellis. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 17 from 2-4 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Interment in Westside Cemetery, Brookfield. Memorial donations may be made to either Stewiacke or Brookfield Baptist Church or Brookfield United Church.
