  • Obituary: CHAPMAN - Dale M. Eaton, 72, passed away following a long illness on Sunday July 20, 2014 at The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. He was born on April 22, 1942, the son of Percy and Arlene (Fillmore) Eaton. He graduated from Mapleton High School, and attended University of Maine at Orono and University of Maine at Presque Isle. Dale served in the U.S. Army in Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. He was an active member of the American Legion, and DAV. He worked as a carpenter for many years, and most recently drove veterans to their appointments at the Togus VA Center. He is survived by his companion of 5 years, Margaret Twohey, whom he met 50 years ago in Germany, a sister, Beverly Shulenburg and her husband, Mark of Greenfield, MA., many beloved nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Darlene Casher, and two brothers, Dana and Wayne Eaton. Interment with military honors will be at Southside Cemetery, Mapleton.
