Born in Nauwigewauk, NB, on December 2, 1930, he was a son of the late J. Clarence and Jean E. (Dickson) Henderson. A cradle Anglican, Lowell was a Diocesan lay reader and active in parish life wherever he dwelt, particularly in the Parish of Hammond River. After college, Lowell joined the Freight Sales and Services Department of CN Rail and spent over 35 years serving shippers throughout the Maritimes while based in Saint John, Moncton and Halifax, retiring as Regional Manager of Sales and Services in 1986. Following retirement, he continued an active role in the CN Pensioners' Association, the CNIB, Hammond River Anglers Association, and enjoyed square and round dancing, as well as fly fishing. Lowell was deeply devoted to his family and friends. He was the go-to person relied on by many to be a calming presence, take charge in any situation, and get the job done. His patience, faith and kindness were felt by everyone around him, and he truly made the world a better place.
