  • Obituary: Jack R. Shook, 70, of Shippenville, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at the Clarion Hospital Emergency Room. Born on January 7, 1945 in Pittsburgh; he was the son of Ernest D. and Jessie B. Stewart Shook.Jack was married to his high school sweetheart, Barbara J. Jordan, on August 4, 1962 for 50 years. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2013.He was self-employed with his own sales business.Jack was a member of the Clarion First United Methodist Church.He was also a member of the FOE #3807 of Clarion, former ALF Chair, and former member of the Local Civic and Fraternal Organizations.Jack enjoyed trips to Salamanca and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by a son Randy Shook and his wife, Rhonda, of Clarion; two daughters, Pamela Carlson and her husband, Gregory, of Florence, SC, and Kristin Bowser and her companion, John Klingler, of Shippenville; six grandchildren, Lindsay and Maya Shook of Clarion, Kaleb (Sarah) Carlson of Florence, SC, Kelsey Carlson of Florence, SC, Brandon Bowser of Rimersburg, Brooke Bowser of Shippenville; a great granddaughter, Anniston Carlson of Florence, SC; and a special friend, Georgie Graham of Shippenville. Also surviving are a sister, Judy Schwab of Sligo; two sisters-in-law, Cheryl Hartman and friend, Michael Hayes, of Richmond, VA, and Sue Shook of Michigan and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Karl Shook, a sister, Kaye Pollock, and an infant sister.Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Haley, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Jack's name to Charitable Deeds, 98 Hickory Nut Lane, Knox PA 16232; or the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 600 Wood Street, Clarion PA 16214. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Robert V.
