Age 92, died peacefully on February 6, 2015, with her daughters by her side. Eunice was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She made people happy for having known her and approached life with unwavering patience, optimism and persistence. She will be deeply missed. Eunice was born September 4, 1922, in Minneapolis, the fourth of six siblings. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and worked at the Bureau of Engraving until traveling to Louisiana to marry the love of her life, Al Bowles, who was stationed in the service. They were married on March 27, 1943. For 25 years she was the quintessential stay-at-home Mom. She then returned to work at Midwest Federal, retiring after 19 years and rising to the position of Assistant Vice President. Eunice was a model of community leadership: PTA, PEO, Girl Scout Leader, League of Women Voters, election judge, Meals on Wheels, and a volunteer at Careview Home. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church for 63 years. Eunice's great joy was time with her family whether camping every weekend in the summer or spoiling her 3 grandchildren with undivided attention and love. She had a fierce loyalty to the Vikings and Twins through every season's ups and downs. Preceded in death by her devoted husband of 55 years Al Bowles, brother Les Cummings and sisters Millie Storholm and Gladys Denny. She is survived by her three daughters: Connie Barry, Barbara (Dennis) Axel, and Debra Bowles (Chet Matuszak); three grandchildren: Jason Barry, Lisa Axel and Eli Matuszak, one sister Evie McRae and one brother Ralph Cummings.
