Barney, 58, of 17 Leslie Rd., Apt. 14, Massena were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena with Rev. Milton Vahey, minister of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Racquette River Cemetery, Massena. Mrs. Barney died Friday afternoon (May 20, 1988) in the emergency room of the Massena Memorial Hospital. She is survived by two sons, Robert R. Barney of Syracuse, Mark Todd Barney of Glens Falls; one daughter, Mrs. Ted (Robin Ann) Montpetit of Massena; and four grandsons. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Merry Ellen Barney, March 20, 1961 and a brother, George H. Eaton, June 21, 1982. Mrs. Barney was born March 15, 1930, in Burlington, Vt., daughter of Ellis L. and Doris Mason Eaton. She graduated from the Mont Everde High School, Fla., and the Cooley Dickinson Hospital School of Nursing, North Hampton, Mass. She was a registered nurse at the Highland Nursing Home, Massena until her retirement in February, 1985. She was a volunteer at the Arthritic Clinic and Meals on Wheels and she was involved in the Swim for Fitness program. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund, the Cancer Fund, or the Arthitlc Fund.
