He graduated from Weber State College where he ran track and held the 1966 Big Sky Conference Mile record with a time of 4:19.6. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Doyle served a mission in Australia. He served in the United States Marine Corps between 1969 and 1974, reaching the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Life's Work | Service | Interests: Doyle's passion in life was art. Following his mission, he attended the University of Utah where he studied art. After teaching for a year at the University of Utah, Doyle opened a studio for fine art. He also studied art independently with LeConte Stewart. He continued to pursue and teach art throughout his life. Doyle was an award-winning artist whose specialties were realist-impressionist landscape and figure paintings. He hosted the classical model drawing class in Springville for over 20 years. One of his final weeks was spent with his son, Brian, enjoying the beauty of the landscape in Idaho which was one of his favorite things to do. Doyle Dewis Shaw, of Provo, Utah, passed away August 14, 2019, in Payson, Utah. He was 72.
