  • Obituary: June 24, 1929 - May 16, 2010 THOMAS, Faye Olivia - 80, Berwick, Kings Co., formerly of Aylesford East, Kings Co., passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in South Berwick, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Whitford and Gertrude (Drew) Conrad. Faye along with her father owned and operated Conrad's Canteen in South Berwick for many years and she later worked at the Red and White Store in Berwick. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, David W. Thomas, Fundy Villa, Berwick; son, David (Elizabeth) Thomas, North Kingston; grandchildren, Meghaen (Mark Greene) Markey-Thomas, Kentville; Justin Markey-Thomas, North Kingston; great-grandson, Brandon Thomas-Greene, Kentville; sister, Kelsey (Warren) Herman, South Berwick; half-sister, Kathleen Cappell, Grand View Manor, Berwick; half-brother, Marshall Drew; sisters-in-law, Pauline Conrad; Yvonne Conrad, all of South Berwick; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Delbert and Carmen Conrad. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private graveside service will take place in the Aylesford Union Cemetery, Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders officiating. All are welcome to a reception for Faye from 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, in the Fundy Villa B Lounge, 108 Commercial St., Berwick. Donations in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Society.
