Born in Blomidon, he was a son of the late William and Hattie (Blenkhorn) Carter. Vic was a school bus driver and mechanic for over 30 years. He loved his garden, his flowers, fishing, his dog, Champ, and spending time with family and friends. Vic was a great story teller and will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; three step children, Lisa Matsell Streeter (James Streeter), Halifax; Mark Matsell (Margot Greek), Hammonds Plains; Rosemary Matsell (Kevin Sullivan), Dartmouth; two grandsons, Joshua and Alexander; two brothers in Ontario and their families, Murray (Marilyn) and their daughters, Elaine, Alita and Lisa; Gerald (Ruth) and their son, Michael; sister-in-law, Dorothy Blenkhorn, Kentville and son, Wayne. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Sheldon Blenkhorn. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There will be no visitation, by request. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the Pereau Baptist Church, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in the Huston Beach Cemetery, Kings County. Following the burial, a reception will be held in Cherry Hall of the Pereau Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Valley Regional Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.
