Born in South Waterville, she was the daughter of Manning and Mildred (Lingard) Strong. She married Allison "Al" Morton in 1948 and lived and raised her family in New Minas. She was a member of the New Minas Baptist Church. Doris is survived by daughters, Linda, Coldbrook; Brenda (Marlin Gould), North Kingston; Charlene (John Cameron), Tupper Lake; Robin (Dan Spearns), Coldbrook; granddaughters, Claire Spearns and Deirdre Spearns, both of Halifax and sister June Hoyt, Kentville. She was predeceased by her husband, J. Allison "Al"; brothers, Stuart, George, in infancy, Cecil and sister, Phyllis. A private family service will be held at a later date and the burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville.
