Marie passed away peacefully at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, with her loving family by her side, less than three months after her husband's passing in January of this year. Born in Springhill Junction, NS, she was a daughter of the late Burl and Josephine (Beaton) Fisher. Marie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the glue that held her family together. She loved her birds, and tending her flower gardens.She will be sadly missed by her son Gerald (Meg) Ripley, Phillipines; daughter, Catherina Ripley, Fenwick; 2 grand daughters, 4 grandsons and 5 great grandchildren; brother Richard (Bridgette) Fisher, Moncton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Conan; brothers Burl, Garnet and Kenneth Fisher, all of Ontario, Roy Fisher, Springhill Junction; sister Geraldine (Harold) Spence, Springhill. Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday April 21, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. . A funeral service, celebrating Marie's life will be held on , Saturday, April 22 , 2017 at 2 p.m. from the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, Amherst. Pastor Jonathan Cole officiating. Burial will take place in the Fenwick Cemetery. Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society,or charity of your choice.
