Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Burton and Janet (Naugler) Temple. Eric was a retired Captain in the Royal Canadian Army and throughout his military career was posted across Canada at various locations and had been a member of the Black Watch Regiment. He was a member of the Aylesford United Church, and Kentville Lodge # 58, A.F. & A.M., Kentville and was a 50 year jewel holder. Eric was also a member of various other Masonic related organizations. He was an avid sports enthusiast, playing hockey and was one of the founding directors of the Maritime Quarter Horse Association. Surviving are his wife, Ardith P. (Collins) Temple, Kingston; son, Jeffrey (Samantha) Temple, Shubenacadie; daughter, Karen (George) Atkins, Aylesford; grandsons, Derek and Steven Atkins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Roy and Alan Temple; sisters, Margaret Yates; Helen Temple. There will be no visitation. Masonic Service and Funeral Service will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday March 12, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900).
