Born in Morristown, he was a son of the late George Elmer and Adelia (Rainforth) Hutchinson. He graduated from the Agricultural College in Truro in 1924 and returned to Morristown, where he owned and operated Mountain Crest Farm Ltd. until retiring in 1974. He was past president of Berwick Fruit Company; past director of Scotia Gold Ltd.; former member and past director of Nova Scotia Fruit Growers Association; member of Nova Scotia Egg and Poulet Producers Association and Morristown Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon for 20 years. Surviving are his wife, former Lalia Rebecca Nichols; son, Leslie, Morristown; daughters, Pauline (Mrs. George Mattison), Moncton, N.B.; Doris MacArthur, Berwick; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Lorin. No visitation by request. Funeral 2 p.m. today in Morristown Baptist Church, Rev. Douglas Porter and Pastor Margo MacDougall officiating.
